Our Story
Casa Maestri was born from a dream shared by two souls raised on opposite sides of the border—but united by a passion for spirits, tradition, and legacy.
Michael, from the United States, and Celia, from Mexico, both grew up in families rooted in the world of wines and distillates. Their lives ran in parallel until fate brought them together 27 years ago, and 13 years later they were married in a magical ceremony at the Vatican. That love, sealed in faith and purpose, gave rise to a new vision: to build their own tequila distillery. With sacrifice, discipline, and heart, they brought that dream to life in the heart of Tequila, Jalisco. Casa Maestri is the result—a family-owned distillery crafting ultra-premium tequilas that honor tradition while raising global standards.
1951
Foundations in veracruz
Mr. José and Celia Villanueva migrate from Santa Inés, Michoacán to Córdoba, Veracruz, where they establish Licores Veracruz, planting the first seeds of a family tradition in spirits.
1965
Expansion to california
Mr. Frank-Lin and Lindley Maestri move from Hawaii to San José, California, founding Frank-Lin Distillers Ltd.—a key milestone that further solidifies the family’s presence in the spirits industry.
2008
The birth of casa maestri
Michael and Celia V. Maestri move from Houston, Texas to Tequila, Jalisco, where they establish Destiladora del Valle de Tequila, now known globally as Casa Maestri—a distillery committed to producing ultra-premium tequila.

With over 72 years of combined experience, Michael and Celia lead one of the most awarded tequila houses in the world.
Casa Maestri tequilas are now enjoyed in over 20 countries, earning global recognition and multiple Gold and Double Gold medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
